At the start of each episode of Darkplace, Garth annouces, "I am Garth Marenghi." There is your first clue. Wondering why no book shops stock his work, or why there aren't many fan sites?

I was actually take in my all of it at first. Although I suddenly realised it later. My thoughts were confirmed when I checked IMDB.com, to find Garth was no credited with Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. But a guy named Matthew Holness was.

Next clue - do you remember Darkplace being on in the 80's. I would be quite worried if you did, because it wasn't on ;). It only ever showed for the first time on Channel 4 in 2004.

The truth is - Darkplace is not real. To be more acurate, Garth Marenghi himself is not real. He is a creation of Matthew Holness. Darkplace the TV show was filmed recently and made to look like an 80's production. Wow, its the Blair Witch Project all over again.
